# Phase 04 Draft Briefs

**Session**: `phase04-session03-draft-asset-generation-and-source-capture` **Status**: Non-runtime draft planning **Last updated**: 2026-05-29

These briefs describe safe generation intent for selected S0403 rows. They are not raw provider prompts, they do not include secret values, and they do not use `EXAMPLES/` files as direct inputs.

## Shared Rules

* Use stable docs, current app behavior, the media matrix, and catalog records as source context.
* Do not copy, upload, transform, or describe `EXAMPLES/` files as direct media input.
* Avoid UI text, logos, watermarks, private paths, prompt transcripts, account IDs, and provider request bodies in tracked files.
* Keep all output non-runtime until later promotion gates approve it.
* Record every generated, rejected, or deferred target in `draft-generation-manifest.json`.

## Visual Briefs

### `draft.visual.battlefield-reference-refresh`

**Product need**: Preserve the current approved battlefield reference set as regeneration context while documenting that the PNG references are not direct runtime files.

**Style direction**: Match the existing dark tactical board and faction standee language documented in `docs/media-assets.md`; keep strong silhouettes, readable board center, controlled faction color accents, and no baked UI text.

**Event or surface mapping**: Future regeneration of the background and hero standees only. No runtime path changes in this session.

**Fallback expectation**: App battlefield CSS terrain, hero initials, labels, and native buttons remain authoritative when media fails.

**Rejection criteria**:

* Includes text, logos, watermarks, UI buttons, health bars, or cursors.
* Uses a direct `EXAMPLES/` file as input.
* Has unclear provider terms, untracked cost, or missing metadata plan.
* Cannot be reviewed at current app token scale.

**Session disposition**: Deferred. Current approved references remain cataloged from Session 02; new generation needs explicit cost and promotion scope.

### `draft.visual.future-battlefield-additions`

**Product need**: Explore whether future faction variants or scenery would be useful if browser QA proves the universal board insufficient.

**Style direction**: Product-consistent 2D tactical reference art. Keep the center clean for DOM controls and avoid specialized scenery that would force public-demo parity work before Session 06.

**Event or surface mapping**: Potential future visual variants for the battlefield board, not current runtime media.

**Fallback expectation**: Existing battlefield WebP set and CSS fallbacks remain the product baseline.

**Rejection criteria**:

* No concrete product gap beyond decorative variety.
* Breaks app/public-demo parity or service-worker scope.
* Exceeds future size or metadata cleanup budgets.
* Uses quarantined media as a direct visual source.

**Session disposition**: Planned with blockers. No provider run is required in this session.

### `draft.visual.hud-style-study`

**Product need**: Capture high-level style direction for owned HUD frames, buttons, and panel art without importing historical GUI files.

**Style direction**: Quiet operational cockpit accents that support dense, scan-friendly UI. Keep DOM text and native controls authoritative.

**Event or surface mapping**: Possible future decorative HUD accents only. Current app HUD remains CSS and DOM.

**Fallback expectation**: CSS panels, labels, focus states, and text remain complete without image assets.

**Rejection criteria**:

* Replaces accessible DOM controls with image-only controls.
* Contains text labels that should remain live DOM text.
* Creates contrast, focus, reduced-motion, or responsive layout ambiguity.
* Derives directly from quarantined GUI or cursor assets.

**Session disposition**: Planned with release blockers.

### `draft.visual.achievement-icons`

**Product need**: Define owned achievement icon direction while preserving the current text, trophy, toast, and burst treatment as the authoritative signal.

**Style direction**: Small readable medals or glyphs with strong shapes, controlled color, and no text baked into the icon.

**Event or surface mapping**: Future trophy room, achievement toast, or progress recap decoration.

**Fallback expectation**: Achievement names, descriptions, DOM trophy text, and toast state remain complete without icons.

**Rejection criteria**:

* Icon is the only signal for achievement meaning.
* Insufficient contrast or unclear shape at small sizes.
* Missing text alternative or visible-equivalent plan.
* Directly copies historical achievement icon files.

**Session disposition**: Planned with release blockers.

### `draft.visual.legacy-brand-rejection`

**Product need**: Record that historical screenshots and AgentCraft logo media are not FactionOS product media.

**Style direction**: None. No generation target.

**Event or surface mapping**: Rejection record only.

**Fallback expectation**: Current brand/showcase media remains sourced from tracked `assets/brand/` and `assets/showcase/` records.

**Rejection criteria**:

* Brand mismatch.
* Unknown source, rights, attribution, and metadata.
* Direct promotion from quarantined historical media.

**Session disposition**: Rejected.

## Audio Briefs

### `draft.audio.public-demo-speech-replacement`

**Product need**: Prepare replacement direction for click-only voice-line clips so future full app or public demo audio can use owned, cataloged media instead of historical references.

**Style direction**: Short readable command barks, neutral enough for repeated clicks, with no private names, sensitive prompts, or transcript content.

**Event or surface mapping**:

* Hero selected.
* Mission accepted.
* Awaiting user input.
* Mission completed.
* Repeated-click playful response.

**Fallback expectation**: Captions or visible text equivalents must accompany file-backed audio in later runtime sessions.

**Rejection criteria**:

* Contains sensitive command text, workspace paths, or user/project secrets.
* Lacks caption, transcript, duration, loudness, or metadata plan.
* Uses quarantined MP3 files as provider input.
* Provider voice terms or cost are unclear.

**Session disposition**: Deferred unless provider budget and voice review are approved locally.

### `draft.audio.music-loop-replacement`

**Product need**: Define non-runtime direction for future background music or music-like loops without treating historical song-like barks as proof of a current full app music system.

**Style direction**: Low-distraction tactical ambience suitable for opt-in browser playback, with loop points and failure state documented.

**Event or surface mapping**: Optional future cockpit ambience or public demo playlist replacement.

**Fallback expectation**: Product must remain fully usable with audio disabled, blocked, or failed to load.

**Rejection criteria**:

* No loop/edit plan, captions when needed, or visible playback controls.
* Exceeds lazy-loading or size-budget expectations.
* Rights or attribution terms are unclear.
* Directly copies historical song-like barks or public demo music files.

**Session disposition**: Deferred.

### `draft.audio.ui-alerts-and-sfx`

**Product need**: Prepare short, non-voice signals for future local-only alerts without replacing visible status feedback.

**Style direction**: Subtle and short UI sounds with clear event separation, not cinematic stingers.

**Event or surface mapping**:

* Local server disconnected.
* Guarded action needs review.
* Mission state changed.
* Scan complete with findings.

**Fallback expectation**: Visible notices, status badges, and notification copy remain authoritative.

**Rejection criteria**:

* Audio becomes the only event signal.
* No cooldown or duplicate-trigger strategy.
* No loudness, duration, metadata, or browser-format plan.
* Uses quarantined alert-like MP3s as inputs.

**Session disposition**: Planned with blockers.

### `draft.audio.achievement-celebration`

**Product need**: Draft a small celebration signal that can supplement, not replace, the current visual achievement treatment.

**Style direction**: Short, restrained confirmation with no speech dependency unless captions are available.

**Event or surface mapping**: Future achievement toast or trophy-room event.

**Fallback expectation**: DOM trophy/toast/burst treatment remains complete when audio is disabled, blocked, or unavailable.

**Rejection criteria**:

* Audio is the only accessible signal.
* Lacks reduced-motion or reduced-audio compatibility.
* No cleanup plan for playback lifecycle.
* Rights, cost, metadata, or browser support are unresolved.

**Session disposition**: Planned with blockers.

## Optional Video Brief

### `draft.video.optional-demo-loop`

**Product need**: Optional future demo capture loop or poster, only if a concrete product use is approved.

**Style direction**: Not selected in this session.

**Event or surface mapping**: Future docs, release, or demo page media only.

**Fallback expectation**: Poster image, captions when speech or text appears, and text summary must exist before runtime use.

**Rejection criteria**:

* No concrete product use.
* No codec, caption, poster, lazy-loading, or size-budget plan.
* Adds hosted transfer, analytics, or public-share implications.

**Session disposition**: Deferred.

## Unknown-Provenance Audit Brief

### `draft.audit.unknown-provenance`

**Product need**: Keep a manifest row for future or discovered media with unknown provenance so it cannot pass as release-ready by omission.

**Style direction**: None.

**Event or surface mapping**: Repository audit only.

**Fallback expectation**: Unknown media stays non-runtime until catalog data and release gates resolve source, rights, attribution, metadata, format, fallback, and product use.

**Rejection criteria**:

* Missing source or rights evidence.
* Missing metadata or optimization plan.
* Absolute, remote, parent-directory, or quarantined runtime path.
* No explicit release blocker.

**Session disposition**: Deferred.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://faction-os.gitbook.io/faction-os-docs/assets/generated/phase04/draft-briefs.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
